Abstrakt

Christian family is a community of life, i.e. a community that enables to live in physical, psychological, spiritual and religious sense. Promoting personal life is the sense and aim of a Christian family. In Christian tradition, there has always been a strong emphasis put on marriage and family, which shows that a marital relationship is the basis of a family community. By binding people into a community, a family protects them from their loneliness, ensures their mutual help and gives a sense of security. A family bond is of great importance for the elderly people. They need contact with their children and grandchildren so as to participate in life, experience psychological support and have a sense of security. Nowadays, the life of individual people is mostly poor in interpersonal relations. Meanwhile, a man has always been the essence of society. In view of the changes that take place in society, marriage and family ought to be treated as the most important institutions that may provide a lonely man with a sense of stability, togetherness and participation.
