doctrinal faith, faith of a personal encounterAbstract
The paper’s title suggests that there is a tension any believer is destined to experience. Namely, every human being lives in the space spanned by his/her own experience of God, which can be called ‘a personal encounter’, and by the doctrine, that is, the structured content of religious beliefs suggested by his/her religious community. The question this paper addresses is the following: what are the constellations in which the faith of a personal encounter and the faith expressed in the doctrine can go together?References
