Monografia o. Tomasza Gałkowskiego stanowi rzetelne i głębokie opracowanie niełatwego zagadnienia. Zasady ogólne prawa kanonicznego, mimo że pojawiają się jako wyrażenie w kodeksie prawa kanonicznego z 1983 roku tylko raz, mają bardzo duże znaczenie dla aplikacji poszczególnych jego kanonów. Omawiana praca pozwala zrozumieć ich istotę i spojrzeć na nie z perspektywy o wiele szerszej niż tylko ów jeden kanon, co ma wydatne przełożenie na rozumienie stosunku kanonicznoprawnego.
