In the theory of law the issue of meaning of the term “function of law” has its significant place. The term in question is ambiguous. One of the meanings is “the result of law”, what is understood as an effect caused by an introduction of a new regulation into the system of law. This article originated in an effort to present the subject. It consists of two parts. In the first one, the concept of “the result of law” is defined. In the second one, the term “the result of law” is analyzed and classified. Summing up, it can be said that a variety and diversity of the results of law makes both the interpretation and the lawgiving activities challenging.
