Aims and Scope

Studia Socialia Cracoviensia is a scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow. It provides a forum for the presentation and promotion of academic research in the fields of education; marriage and family studies; society, culture, morality, and social ethics; social and family policy; issues related to socio-cultural transformation and civilizational development; as well as the reception of the social teaching of the Church, with particular emphasis on the thought of John Paul II. The journal is open to creative interdisciplinary dialogue with the richness of contemporary humanistic and social thought. It serves as a forum and an areopagus for the exchange of ideas in the spirit of the primacy of persons over things, the primacy of ethics over technology and politics, and the primacy of what is enduring and eternal over what is fragile and transient. The journal is open to all authors, especially young researchers who share this spirit of concern for the human person and the community. Published on a semiannual basis, Studia Socialia Cracoviensia consists of three sections: the first includes articles related to the thematic focus of a given issue; the second contains studies and research papers corresponding to the journal’s general scope; and the final section presents evaluations, reviews, and reports.

The Ethics and Malpractice

To prevent ghostwriting and guest authorship, the editorial staff requires that the input of each author be disclosed, in particular the authorship of the concept, assumptions, methods and relevant passages. The editorial staff must also be informed of the sources from which the publication has been financed. Since ghostwriting and guest authorship are manifestations of the lack of scholarly diligence, the authors of articles are requested to submit statements to the editorial staff concerning the professional and financial input of entities which have contributed to the publication. In cases of suspected or alleged misconduct, we will follow the COPE flowcharts.

Plagiarism policy

Each submission undergoes a plagiarism check using Crossref Similarity Check, powered by iThenticate, prior to the review process. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism will be rejected.
