Abstract

Work as an inherent human right. The problem of unemployment in Poland and a destructive influence of lack of work on people. Constitutional protection of human dignity and access to employment and decent earnings. Work and a sense of fulfilment, happiness; work as a vocation; a Christian testimony at work and through work. “Work for man and not man for work” – consequences of breaching this rule. Job market in Poland – opportunities and risks. Value of work in human life – wisdom of generations expressed in proverbs and aphorisms. What does the present homo faber become through work or its lack?
