The Person of Rev. Prof. Wojciech Życiński deserves a commemoration. His scientific journey is marked with the particular love of the Church and the Blessed Virgin Mary. His works on Mariology and ecclesiology are worthy of special attention. Their interdisciplinary character has set up an important research perspective in theology. Fr. Życiński carried out his theological mission both in teaching and popularizing the theological doctrine. In addition to his research and teaching duties he was engaged in the organizational activities at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow and was a member of a number of ecclesiastical commissions. He has made a solid contribution into theology with the Polish Mariology occupying a dominant position.
