W niniejszym artykule fragment z Księgi Liczb - Lb 10, 1-10, w którym Mojżesz otrzymuje polecenie wykonania dwóch trąbek [חֲצֹצְרָה] ze srebra, został ukazany w perspektywie badawczej uwzględniającej przede wszystkim konteksty biblijny i historyczny, a także archeo-muzykologiczny. W przeciwieństwie do zmitologizowanych relacji pochodzących z różnych obszarów Śródziemnomorza na temat wynalazców/ pierwszych konstruktorów instrumentów muzycznych, fragment ten zawiera oryginalne ujęcie genezy aerofonu (Lb 10, 1-2). Ze względu na skromne możliwości melodyczne trąbki ḥǎṣōṣěrâ, podobnie jak ich egipskie pierwowzory šnb, nie były instrumentami muzycznymi sensu stricto. Zazwyczaj posługiwali się nimi kapłani wywodzący się od Aarona oraz lewici. W Lb 10, 2-10 znalazły się historycznie wiarygodne informacje technologiczne (Lb 10, 2) oraz rozwinięty profil użytkowy aerofonu (Lb 10, 2-10), który w dużym stopniu odzwierciedla przywoływany materiał porównawczy ze Starego Testamentu (działania wojenne, sakralne uroczystości w Jerozolimie).
