Among the first criteria verifying each, new reported case of the possibility of committing a sexual crime, is the age of a victim and the time of committing a felony; “When did it happen and at what age was the victim?” – this is one of the basic questions in confrontation with a new notification. Meanwhile the subject matter of this study demonstrates that the way of thinking indicated above is a large simplification. Because it turns out that not everything depends on the age of a victim and a statute of limitations. There are also other, important circumstances which should be taken into consideration, among them: abuse of power and of relationship of dependency. Present study pays attention to the meaning of abuse of power and of relationship of dependency in relation to sexual crimes in canon law.
