The complicated notion of tradition in Catholic theology is analyzed from the point of view of the relationship existing between word and deed in the process of transmission of the Divine Revelation. The carried out analyzes lead to the conclusion that Tradition is not a word or deed (verbum aut actio), but it is a word confirmed by the deed (verbum et actio), and the action is explained in words, according to the command of the Savior: “Do this in memory of me” (Lk 22:19).References
