This article is devoted to a largely forgotten and so far only fragmentarily researched period in the academic activity of Fr. Józef I. M. Bocheński OP, corresponding to the years 1934–1939, during which he lectured at the Dominican Pontifical International Institute “Angelicum” in Rome. Special attention is given to Bocheński’s lectures on general methodology, which constitute a significant aspect of the so-called “Roman logic” period in his intellectual development. The basis for the analysis is a recently discovered typescript of these lectures, preserved in the Archive of the Church and Hospice of St. Stanislaus BM in Rome, the first part of which has been published. The aim of the article is to present the current state of research on this source.
