Abstrakt

Wśród różnych wyznań chrześcijańskich istnieją rozmaite poglądy na temat piekła. W artykule przedstawiono różnorodne stanowiska teologiczne dotyczące piekła, nad którymi debatowano w ciągu ostatnich dziesięciu lat (2010–2020) w Stanach Zjednoczonych na płaszczyźnie teologicznej oraz w prasie popularnej. Badane są tutaj: anihilacjonizm, uniwersalizm i tradycyjny punkt widzenia. Dla każdej generalnej kategorii przedstawiono różne teorie filozoficzne, teologiczne i biblijne. W artykule starano się zaprezentować ogólny przegląd rozmaitych teologii, aby pokazać, że takie teologiczne dociekania powinny być niezwłocznie podjęte, bo mają bardzo ważne znaczenie dla współczesnych chrześcijan.

    Sydney Sadowski is a doctoral student at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków, Poland. She holds a BA (History/Philosophy) from Portland State University; MA (History) from the University of London – School of Slavonic and East European Studies; MBA from Willamette University; MA (Theology) from Mt. Angel Seminary; and STL (Theology) from the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow.
