The Idea of a Correlation Between Freedom and Modality Based on Robert Grosseteste’s De libero arbitrio

The article presents the correlation between freedom and modality that has become the subject of the philosophical research of the English thinker Robert Grosseteste. This excellent but little-known scholastic author has included his reflections on freedom on the pages of De libero arbitrio. Grosseteste drew his most important philosophical inspirations from ancient and medieval philosophy, especially from Aristotle. The aim of this article is to demonstrate that it is possible to compare freedom and modality by introducing atemporal terms.References
