Nicaean bishops in the East after the Synod of Milan in 355, based on the preserved correspondence of Lucifer of Calaris

Abstract

In extant correspondence of Lucifer of Calaris, have been discussed the problems related to difficulties with which, some of the bishops and their communities have had to faced in times of the Arians major influence in the Roman Empire and as well as issues of efforts made to improve their conditions. Source base of presented text represent the letter of Pope Liberius and two letters of St. Athanasius. This article states not only the elaboration those three of among surviving letters, but also takes into account their translation into polish language.
