In my article, I examine one of the most famous novels for children and young people, “Emil and the Detectives” by Erich Kästner, in terms of the process of didacticization and the practical use of the text in secondary school classes and in working with university students. In my reflections, I emphasize and describe the didactic and moralizing value of Kästner’s text.
