In the article, we have presented the outcomes of a survey conducted on the finalists and questionnaires filled in by their teachers of the 10th edition of Interdyscyplinarne Warsztaty Filozoficzne dla Młodzieży (the Interdisciplinary Philosophical Workshops for Youth) organized by the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow (UPJPII). These workshops are, among the other elements, the execution of the so called University “third mission”. The aim of the research was to investigate two hypotheses: (1) Philosophical Workshops are an incentive to undertake philosophical studies; (2) Philosophical Workshops contribute to the popularization of UPJPII philosophers’ research. The results of the surveys conducted and filled in questionnaires indicate that the Workshops have the potential to increase the interest in philosophy among the secondary schools’ pupils and work as a tool of the so-called University “third mission” on the national level. The Workshops form additional, not only professional, channel of scientific communication with social environment. Examined teachers and pupils affirmed that the Workshops had an impact on philosophy teaching in schools they represented. Research of some philosophers from UPJPII reached out to the pupils and their teachers from secondary schools in Poland thank to multiannual, periodic organizing of this event.
