Article, whose quote in the title is taken from the “Diary” of Saint Sister Faustina (301), develops one aspect of God’s mercy, namely charity towards the poor. It builds on the text of James 2:1–13 and draws attention to the need to avoid in the ecclesial community any preference for the rich at the expense of the poor. Favouring the rich would be against the commandment to love one’s neighbour, that is, in the context of the pericope, against love for the poor. Mercy towards those who are insulted (James 2:6) and are not valuable for the world will become, at the time of God’s judgement, the decisive criterion for participation in God’s glory.
