The Personalist Philosphy as the Foundation of Person-Centered Medicine

The aim of my article is to examine one of the latest theoretical models in medicine: person-centered medicine. In the first section, I present and critically analyze the model of Evidence-Based Medicine. I then move on to outlining the general framework of the person-centered medicine model. In the third section, I attempt to compare this model with personalist philosophy. The conclusion I reach is as follows: despite the use of the term “person-centered medicine” in its name, there is a noticeable silence in this approach regarding the sources of personalist thought.
