Selection of chants during the mass combined with the coronation of the image of Our Lady of Dzików in Chorzelów (September 9, 2017)

The ceremony of coronation of the miraculous image of Our Lady, Queen of Families from Chorzelów was the culmination of the cult that Mary has received in this image for over 200 years. Liturgical singing and music are an important element of every liturgical meeting. The study aims to show various aspects of preparation in the field of music, starting from the liturgical theme of the celebration, through the performers, to the planned repertoire of songs. Mary’s royalty results from the fact of her divine motherhood and the patient bearing of the shame of the cross of her Son. The coronation of the miraculous image indicated the theme of the texts, the performers were combined choirs and orchestras, and the repertoire included songs in honor of Mary the Queen, Eucharistic songs intended for common singing of the entire community, and choral pieces accompanied by an orchestra. Their character emphasized the very solemn mood of the holiday of faith.
