Abstrakt

This article presents an analysis of the notion of poetic apokatastasis in the works of Czesław Miłosz – both poetry and essays. The way Czesław Miłosz acquires this notion goes beyond the traditional theological interpretation and touches a number of problems from the fields of literary studies, philosophy and theology, such as: problem of subject, world-language relation, problem of memory etc. The goal of this article is to show, that the notion of apokatastasis interests Czesław Miłosz not only as a historian of ideas, who reflects on philosophy and religion, but that it is the main intuition, which, in it’s strive towards purity and clarity, tries to grasp and save people and things from oblivion.
