Congregations of the Children of Mary, secondary school, Tarnów dioceseAbstract
Congregations of the Children of Mary were religious communities inextricably connected with the Sodality of Our Lady. The Sodality came into being through the Society of Jesus. At the request of the Father General Claudius Aquaviva, in 1584 Pope Gregory XIII issued a papal bull "Omnipotens Dei", in which he established the first Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Collegio Romano. The Congregation of the Children of Mary was founded in Tarnów at the Ursuline Sisters' establishment (1877), who ran secondary schools until 1939.
