The paper reveals the coexistence of specific sets of semantic and formal contrasts in many poetry collections. More than that, it exposes an attempt to liberate poetry from ruling antinomies. Contrary to the common opinion that poets of the 1930s generally avoid poeticisms (with the exception of the “Young Poland” poeticisms), the author unravels their presence and coexistence within everyday Polish language and literary traditions. Poeticisms represent an important component of poetic expression that reflects artistic exploration. A characteristic feature of the language of Trzeci Wyraz poets was a noticeable democratization of poetic language and literature with an emphasis on colloquialisms, vocabulary and phraseology from all varieties of the Polish language. The great, unprecedented intensity of the language of Polish poets from the catastrophic 1930s within the realm of poetic texts reveals many stylistic and linguistic variations and an emerging tendency best described as liberated imagination, inspired by French surrealistic poetry.
