The purpose of the article is to answer the question of who the fathers of the creators of heresies were and what influence they had on their sons. This question is examined based on the Panarion of Epiphanius of Salamis. Although it does not mention fathers very often, a certain panorama of their various behaviors and actions appears from the information scattered in various places: some are rigorists, while others are laxists; some wrote a glorious page in the Church, even becoming martyrs, while others separated from the community of the Church, associating themselves with sects; some held high offices in the Church (bishops), while others were raised outside the Church from childhood. The analysis of “Panarion” shows the relationship between fathers and sons: the strength of the bond, the influence on important life decisions.
