The position of mitered prelate archpriest of the Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Virgin Mary in Krakow is extremely prestigious. The article discusses the history of the appointment of archbishop Franciszek Albin Symon against the legal backdrop of the Austrian law of 7 May 1874, which regulated the external legal relations of the Catholic church.
