Fr. Professor M. Heller, rationality of the world, the borders of the scientific method, science–theology relationship, the theology of scienceAbstract
This article takes the question of the relationship between science and theology, according to the thought of Fr. M. Heller, and it approaches to such a captivation of both disciplines, in which science becomes the subject of interest for theology. The point of outlet is the reflection on the phenomenon of the rationality of the world. The rationality which presents condition for the natural sciences demands for justification. The theological truth, which can be helpful is the faith in the existence of the Logos; the Divine Wisdom penetrating everything is not only the foundation of the structures of the physical world, but it defines also the existence of the world of the values and the sense. Since God presents the philosophical a priori for each science, the natural sciences can lead a dialogue with theology, or even – what Fr. M. Heller suggests – it is possible to create a program of the theology of science. The aim of this approach is the enrichment of the regard on science by taking into consideration these aspects, which are visible only at use of the theological method.References
